By no means should you use this page as the ultimate guide to decision making because I am after all only human, that is my story and I am sticking to it. Those people who know me well know that I don’t like to compromise but if I have to then it will be a good compromise, well, good enough for me.
I’ve made some good buying decisions and some bad ones, you learn from both. I’ve noticed that over the years that some companies quality control have dropped, I won’t mention Sony or Dell at all in this part. Yes, the quality of some products have gone down and with the decrease in quality comes a decrease in price and an increase in sales, the whole supply and demand game. Moving on.
So this page will list all things I have bought, sites that I have browsed, good and bad and I, along with a few others will Yay or Nay the product or the site. So let’s begin!
Talon Alarms - and they’re from Canada! so double Yay, Yay! eh!
Lee Parks Design - Elia has a set of these and she swears by them and not at them so that’s always a good sign, they are made in the U.S.A so bringing them in will require some customs fees but they are really nice gloves. Yay!
Ganka gloves and recreational wear - If you don’t have the funds to get the Lee Parks then you can maybe settle for model 60-937. I found mine at Moto International on St Jacques. They cost between 40-50 bucks. the leather is soft and I wore them for spring riding, fall and even early winter. They are comfortable but may not last as long as the Lee Parks. Yay!
Fox Creek leather - So if you like quality leather wear then you can call them up. I bumped into someone who bought a jacket from them and they rave about it. It looked good and was built with quality in mind and the price is not too bad, looks just as good as my Triumph leathers
Yay!
Kriega - The first time I saw this bag I said to myself, wow, that’s cool. I love the concept and it makes total sense, why have a bunch of dangling straps everywhere when you can have no straps at all. This product gets a two thumbs up, a YAY and a half. The only problem is I have not yet found a place in Canada to buy it. I know that Aerostich carries it but ordering from Aerostich and you’re dishing out for the bag and customs fees. If anyone out there knows someone that imports this thing to Canada then by all means let me know.
Aerostich - Well what more can I say, they have a bunch of cool stuff. Some things you can find at your local shop and other things like the Darien and Roadcrafter line of clothing can only be found here. I’m planning on getting a pair of Combat Touring boots and giving a Yay! to the folks at Aerostich.
Blue Streak Racing - I needed a cover one day and the ones being sold in my area were a bit too much, I was looking for a decent compromise. I stumbled upon Blue Streak and was glad that I did. Tony is great to deal with and his replies are prompt, I called him twice and was very helpful both times. I bought my cover and all is well. Did I mention that they take care of shipping on orders of 59$ or more. Yay!
Boss Tool Supply - If you need to find tools but are too lazy to go out and look for them then you can check out this site. I purchased from them before and I have to say that at first I was little skeptical but their tools are good. They do carry some name brands and other brands that I have never heard of but in the end it is of decent quality. Is it a good compromise, I think so and hey, it’s Canadian! Yay!
Intellicast.com - When you need to know the weather and a few other meteorological tidbits then you can check it out via this website. It’s helped me out lots over the past 2 years so they’re doing something right. Yay!
Raytech - I needed a RAM mounting system for the truck and the motorcycle. Was looking for something locally and found Raytech which is not too far away and has a great functional website. According to their webiste they are a “one stop solution for road navigating GPS, all marine electronic equipment and communication” but like I said, all I need was a RAM mounting system. Keeping it Canadian and keeping it close to Montreal, Yay!
Peppermaster - Okay, I like spice and I like hot, put them together and you have yummy goodness however sometimes the spices and heat that I use can get a bit boring so it’s a good thing I found the Peppermaster. My sister was the one who introduced me to their fine fiery fare a few years ago at a culinary/artisan show. The nice thing is that they’re not too far away either, just on the the outskirts of Montreal, Yay!
Princess Auto - Well here is another place for tools and the like, basically another male gathering spot and proudly so. I have bought quite a few things from here and yes it may not be the “best” but the tools and accessories that I have bought so far are holding up quite well. They do mail order and it leaves from the “Peg”, for those who don’t know Canada, the Peg is Winnipeg, Manitoba. They do have stores scattered about the country but none in Quebec, doesn’t matter though, there is a store in Ottawa, Yay!
